Returning to ourselves, again and again… | Post #26
I love that
we can seek pleasure in our bodies
we can transform our bodies, to make us feel more like ourselves
life is about returning to our bodies
I hate
the constant need to return back to our bodies as if it’s the first time over and over again
I love that
we can rebuild our bodies from pain to ease
we’re all connected in similar bodily experiences and frustrations
I hate that
pain is a bodily experience we have to endure
I love that
our bodies carry stories from our past, from our elders
I hate how
easy it is to get lost in the fake stories we tell ourselves
so many of us have lost the stories that made our genes what they are
Our bodies, so unbelievably strong yet fragile.
Meant to be cared for, returned to when we inevitably stray away from what it asks of us.
Meant to be touched lovingly by other bodies that also need the same care and reassurance.
SENSORY SAFETY
The song(s)/artist I’ve replayed the past week to calm me down
“Got Me Started” by Troye Sivan. The warm weather and so many of Troye’s songs is making me want to throw ass at a dance club
The media I watched the past week to calm me down
Tokyo Vice is the first show in a while that I’ve been super invested in. Japan, gangs, suspense, lots of violence and chaos. It’s SO GOOD
The activity I did the past week to calm me down
I’m finally reading My Body Keeps The Score after hearing from so many people how impactful it is
