There won’t be Slow Saturday Thoughts posts or regular Wednesday posts for the next 3 weeks since I’ll be jet setting to Bali then Kyoto in 4 days!! I’ll see y’all done with photos from the trip 😉. And because I’m a bit stressed with the trip being so soon, this post is extra extra short, but hopefully you get a little nugget of something from it

… It hit me that talk therapy is probably not the best long term support for me. The constant repetition of feelings made me feel like no changes were being made (besides understanding what things kept bothering me). So this is just a reminder that there are other forms of therapy— somatic practices, EMDR, movement as therapy, art therapy— that we can experiment with

Love that you highlighted other forms of therapy. Talk therapy was useful for me for a long time ... but my biggest defense mechanism is that I tend tot intellectualize so ultimately I could talk for years and not let it reach my heart which has meant that more expressive art, movement and somatic experiences have been critical to my own healing.
